that my new big girl bed is terrific!

I have officially been upgraded at the fabulous La NICU Hotel and Spa. The docs took me out of my isolet today and placed me in a miniture crib. Since the air conditioning is on blast, they swaddled me in a few blankets. Unfortunately, I can't show off my pretty little threads with all these blankets on. I am not too concerned though, I have plenty of time to model all the clothes from my baby shower.

P.S. Mommy said that she will post a few pictures of me in my new preemie-pad soon.

P.S.S. I am sending a special "shout-out" to my peeps in Waterloo, Sierra Leone and Detroit.

that bath time is so relaxing!

My Mommy gave me and bath and look what happened--total relaxation.

The docs also stopped by and looked into my eyes today. I tried placing them under my entrancing preemie spell but it didn't work; they still refuse to sign over their paychecks to me. They did say that I passed my eye exam with flying colors though.

that someone moved my cheese

Well, my little preemie condo, or isolet as it is so formally called, was relocated yesterday. The docs thought that I was doing so well that I did not need my own nurse and could share nurses with another preemie-compadre. Babies . . . share? Humph.

Ok, Ok, I am so over myself. In other preemie news . . . the docs are doing a little experiment on me tomorrow. They will step down my Vapotherm from 5 to 4. If I have any "bradys" or "desats" they will increase the dosage to 5 again. Send out a little preemie "holla" for me in your prayer tonight.

Go Wangari, Go Wangari, Go, Go!*

Drop down and get your Vapotherm on.*

that I need smaller diapers!

I had a few blowouts yesterday and I guess the nurse thought these would contain things a little better.

that I am looking quite snazzy today in my new shirt.

Do you like my plastic knee pads? They help to protect the skin on my knees when I lie on my stomach. Premies breath better on their stomachs than backs, so no "back to sleep" until I am released from the hospital.

P.S. Thanks to my Great Auntie Bernadette for my outfit!

that I can get my eyes open just a little wider

Well, Mommie is soooo proud of me today. The doctors removed my IV line yesterday and my blood gas levels were excellent this morning.

Blood Gas
A blood test used to evaluate an infant’s level of oxygen, carbon dioxide and acid. This test is significant because it helps to evaluate an infant’s respiratory status.
